I’m attempting to communicate with my Flexcase E for the first time. I have it connected to my machine via a Peak CAN device. I have a CAN 2 Lo (FCE J1-C3) and Hi (FCE J1-C4) pinned as per the datasheet. It was instructed to me to use these CAN channels by Amir.
The attached error is occuring.
Not sure if it matters or is related, but the toggle switch light on my harness has never turned on when connected to a computer and/or with Vbatt power.
While following this (https://www.audesseinc.com/resources/flexcase-can-flasher/ ) tutorial, there has never been a 0.5sec beep from the buzzer when plugging in the PEAK CAN device through my CAN DB9 connector to pins C3 and C4.

– The diagnostic buzzer is not present on the FlexCase E, thank you for pointing out a mistake in the guide, I will fix promptly.
– The error in your screenshot indicates that your computer does not recognize the peakCAN device. Did you install the peakCAN drivers mentioned in the Prerequisites for the tutorial?

I have verfied via a multimeter there is 12v going into connector pins Q1 and P1 from the battery source.
There is continuity from pins FCE pin C3 (CAN HI) to DB9 Pin 7 and pin C4 (CAN LO) to DB9 Pin 2. This is the Audesse supplied CAN harness adapter.

I have flashed the 344 file for my FCE, as shown in the attached image.
There are no CAN messages being received via PCAN view.
Are there some settings required in PCAN view that aren’t mentioned anywhere in the tutorials for the messages to be broadcast? How can this one be troubleshooted?

Could you confirm that you are writing to the same CAN that is connected to your PCAN device?
I believe that for flashing software you are using CAN2(CAN2L->pin C3, CAN2H->C4). Can you confirm that the CAN write block you are using in your Simulink is also for CAN2?
Also, please don’t remove the termination throughout the connection.
Please see the attached image.
Thanks,

I’m flashing a .bin file from this tutorial, and trying to follow it exactly:
I haven’t compiled anything from simulink yet.
Can I not use this tutorial because I only have CAN2 set up? I confirm I have Can2L as pin c3 and Can2H as pin c4.
