Audesse is currently working with another green technology company, who is developing hybrid-drive systems for the transportation industry. We provided the controls hardware and engineering services to build a power management algorithm into their latest product.
The FlexCase is being used as the sole control system in the hybrid drive system, with a range of features offered by our platform:
- Measure vehicle state and command electric power delivery and recovery based on a proprietary algorithm
- Use of onboard computer to rapidly develop and iterate
- Wireless connectivity allows for remote monitoring and calibration of the powertrain
Brian Fan, the product manager for the new powertrain technology, reached out to Audesse to get a control system up and running quickly for a critical performance validation.

Thanks to the FlexCase’s prebuilt control blocks and supporting software, initial iterations of the power management controller went from out of the box to on the road in a few short weeks. Brian made use of Audesse’s Simulink templates to connect to J1939 interfaces, as well as digital I/O. Reprogramming the microcontroller over IP allowed for rapid iterations and without the need for extra development hardware.

After providing the initial engineering services, our customer support and software resources enabled Brian to continue the rapid pace of development, making use of the logging and connectivity capabilities of the FlexCase.
